Last Monday I drove around the Rosedale neighborhood. I have already posted half on my discoveries. This is the rest of my drive.
There is a little statue sitting on the roof.
A.L. Strasser and his cousin, Alfred, open "Rosedale Plumbing and Electrical" in 1917 .
In 1921, A.L. buys out Alfred, his cousin, discontinues contracting work and converts all shop and office space to a sales floor to pursue hardware sales. In 1926, they move the store to 910 Southwest Boulevard, where it resides today.

The second oldest of the Rosedale Public Schools. Originally a frame building on property at Bluff Street and Central, the school was named for Crispus Attucks. The tan brick, eight-room modern building built in 1939 under WPA grant. Black students were educated in the new building until the 1960's.Attucks School closed in August 1972 and pupils were transferred to other schools.

That's it for my tour of Rosedale. I still have 2 coffee shops and 3 restaurants to visit and we will be done with this adventure email. I have visited one other coffee shop and will post about that tomorrow.
Currently in Kansas City it is 4 degrees and wind chill is -13. Charlie is on limited short walks.
Until tomorrow.
