I started the Rosedale Kansas tour on Monday. This is still the adventure email from the public radio station, KCUR. I took so many pictures trying to get enough to cover the snow days.
Rosedale is a neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. At one time it was it's own city. KU Medical Center takes up a big chuck of the neighborhood and runs along State Line.
We started on 43rd St. (Westport Road in MO).
I have been wanting to stop by this mural for months.
Murals at 42nd and Mission.
Poem about Rosedale.
It's hard to see but this mud puddle is over a foot deep.
They have covered another one with a piece of wood.
I drove through Rosedale park.
Tourist Mural
I found this building.
It says Post Office.
I can't find any history on the building at all.
This is why I stopped.
This is now a Mennonite Church.
I walked all around the building and could not a cornerstone.
There is no history about the building on their website.
This theatre opened as Rosedale Theatre in 1922 as a silent movie theatre.
It is now a theatre event space.
I'm stopping here for today. I could get out today but I'm retired and don't have to so I'm not.
Until tomorrow.
