Signs in Kansas City

The Tension Corporation Building began as the Montgomery Ward General Merchandise Warehouse in 1911.
After Montgomery Ward relocated in 1915, the Berkowitz Envelope Company leased space and eventually merged with Tension Envelope Company in 1944, introducing envelope innovations like the Tension Tie.
In 1959, Tension Corporation purchased the building, adapting it for manufacturing and adding its iconic rooftop neon sign that still stands today
Over a century later, Tension remains a global leader in packaging and automation solutions, and is still headquartered here in KC.

In 1905, an immigrant from Odessa, Russia named Michael H Novorr opened up a pawn/men clothing store on the corner of 19th and Main St in Kansas City. Over the years, he slowly transitioned the store to a men’s clothing boutique.  Today the 4th generation of the family is running the store.

We have visited the President Hotel.  I copied this sign from the internet.

This Garment District sign is across the street from the H & R Block Building.    I just thought it looked neat.

That's it for the first round.  I love all of the signs in this town.

Until Tomorrow.
