Today I tried something different. I signed up with Urban Hikes to explore Kessler Park. Kessler Park has over 300 acres. You walk 4 miles in 3 hours (mostly uphill). I'm dividing it up into two parts. We met at PH Coffee at 8:50. I got there a little early so I went across the street to get my first heart of the parade of hearts.
It was a small little park.
This was our guide, Jenny.
We had an all female group. She said that hardly ever happens.
Our first stop was across the street again.
This mural was painted around Covid. All spray paint.
We walked through the woods for awhile.
This was the Kessler Park waterfall.
Water came from a pipe and down the rocks.
No longer working.
The lake.
It was called Suicide Lake when first created.
It was over 30 ft deep.
From the lake we walked up Cliff Drive.
Cliff Drive is pedestrian only.
This is the road below
It's closed to vehicles because people were crashing off the cliffs.
We climbed up to the park from the road, 100 stairs.
At the top we were able to get a great view.
It is a gorgeous park.
I'll stop here for today. This was around the half way point. This is where my legs were almost ready to fall off my body. The stairs and hills did them in. Lucky for me it was mainly downhill from here.
I'm breaking up the post because I have learned too many pictures make Blogger quit working.
Until tomorrow
