I went back to Penn Valley Park today.
Starting with the International Tree of Peace
I think we might need more of these.
Next I walked down the hill to the Sisters Of Saint Mary's Bell
There was once a hospital here 1907-1988
Their story
Now I'm on level ground. I walked pass the Federal Reserve. Their fountains still aren't turned on.
I walked over to the Santa Fe Marker
Then across the street to the gate of the WW1 Museum.
It's made of tiny tile pieces.
89th Division Memorial
It's a flag pole.
It's getting pretty hot by now. I didn't start till noon today. So what would you do? Climb another hill of course.
Valor and Patriotism Commemorative Statue
I climbed higher to the Pioneer Mothers Statue.
The statue quotes Ruth, "Whither thou goest I will go. Where thou lodges I will lodge. Thy people shall be my people and thy God my God."
This is about half of the park. I have walked the paths so far. Today after leaving Pioneer Mothers I went across the grass. I was really getting hot. And I needed to get going to make it to old people arts and crafts at the community center on time.
My macrame wall art
I was the first one done. I think I'll give it to the kids.
Until tomorrow.
