Strawberry Hill Museum

Today was a fabulous day.  My kids took me to my birthday lunch at Mildred's.

My turkey sandwich

We ate at the fire.  The food was great.  After lunch we went shopping at some nearby shops.

We went to Raygun.  A very great shop.

The building across the street has the TWA rocket.  (On the list)

After Raygun's we went across the street to Bizz & Weezy.

My birthday sweets.  They are a work of art.

So even though this was a perfect day we had one more stop.  The Strawberry Hill Museum.  This is in Kansas City, KS.  I was back in Kansas today!

View from the museum.

So we went in for our tour.

Guess what?  No pictures.

The mansion was beyond beautiful.  Built in 1887.  It has 3 bedrooms and 3 parlors.  In 1919 it was sold to St. John's church for $15,000.  It became an orphanage.  It remained an orphanage until 1988.
I so wish I could have taken pictures.  The whole home was decorated for Christmas.

Once again it's been a great day.  It's always a great day when I get to spend it with my kids.

Until our next adventure.
