Once upon a year ago I would plan the adventures on small notepads and tear the page off to put in a pile. Many of these have been completed or tossed but I found one last week and decided to get it done. This is just a mix of things.
First, I stopped at a thrift store to buy something new to craft instead of using something I already have.
Lucky for me, I couldn't find anything. I really looked too.
Next I went to the Waldo Water Tower that looks like a castle.
It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It was built in 1919-1920 to provide water pressure for the area.
It was used as a real water tower until 1957.
It sits in Tower Park which we can also mark off our list.
The first park for the year.
Next on the list, Hiland Telephone Exchange Building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
It's also known as the Blue Hills Building. I couldn't find any history on the building.
I found a brown sign.
James G. Ashley Jr. and Pamela C. Ashley
Missed it - Native Son and Daughter Sign
#23/ 37 to find
The sign is at the end of this block with Crestwood Shops.
Fancy shops with high prices.
Pretty church across from the shops
I could not see a cornerstone.
This is the old street car station.
That's it for the day. This little piece of paper is being thrown away.
Until tomorrow.
