I'm making an attempt to finish started adventures. I won't be finishing this adventure today but we are getting closer and closer.
Stop 1 - Fire Station #11
Built in 1908 and remained at this location until 1931
We have been here numerous times.
This is why we stopped.

Stop #2: St. Monica Catholic Church
First Catholic Church for African Americans founded in 1910.
Grisafe Memorial Plaza, April 1968, Dedicated to those citizens who believe in the principles of law, order and good citizenship as best exemplified by Salvatore Grisafe.
Salvatore Grisafe was a 17-year old youth who was shot to death on April 19, 1964 while attempting to prevent the assault and robbery of two women.
Stop # 3 - St. Stephen Baptist Church
On April 11, 1957 Martin Luther King Jr. visited St. Stephens and delivered a speech titled “Progress in the Area of Race Relations.” This buff brick church, modern in style, has been a place of worship for one of the nation's largest black Baptist congregations. The church was established in 1903 when Rev. J. W. Hurse, its founder, held services from his wagon.
Reverend John Wesley Williams, civil rights activist and pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri from 1944 to 1983.
Stop 3: Jamison Temple
The Jamison Temple C.M.E. Church is a two-story brick, gable-front, three-bay church built in 1926. We have stopped by here before. It has been damaged by a fire.
Stop #4: Post Office for a substation in 1953. B.H. Muldrew was the first African American to be station supervisor. He ran the station until he retired in 1961.

I have not visited in over a year but there were 2 school buses and I didn't want to deal with that.
