Restaurant Week at the Kemper Museum

 I was taken to lunch for restaurant week.  We went to Oil on Linen at the Kemper Museum.

Course 1

Course Items
- Soup of the Day -
- House Salad -
Greens, radish, red onions, grains, galore croutons, cottonwood river cheddar, & herbed sherry vinaigrette.
Course 1 - I forgot to take a picture.  I selected the soup for the day - Chicken Noodle Soup.  It was amazing.  I will forever compare chicken noodle soup to this soup.
Course 2
Course Items
- Chicken Bowl -
Jeweled rice, sultanas, pine nuts, charred cabbage, grilled chicken & red onion skewer, castelvetrano olive gremolata.
- Salmon -
Persimmon, butternut squash, pomegranate, walnut, arugula, & pickled shallot.
- Avocado Rosti -
Radish, red onion, & cilantro.

I selected the chicken bowl.  I forgot about the picture until I had ate some of it.  I love rice and this rice was great.  The chicken was tender and tasty.  I had more onions than I needed but I'm sure that was for flavor.  This was a great choice.

Course 3

Course Items
- Chocolate Cake -
Shiitake mushroom ice cream & pecans.
- Apple Crostada -
Salted maple ice cream.

I selected the chocolate cake of course.  I made the wrong decision.  The cake was good.  It reminded me of a flourless cake, no frosting.  The shiitake mushroom ice cream was not my favorite.  If you ate the ice cream with the cake it was better.  

The apple crostada was looked great.  I tried the maple ice cream and it rocked.

That was my lunch and it was wonderful.  This was my first time going to a restaurant during restaurant week.  Last year the week was during the negative temps and my battery was dead.

Wine Tasting

 Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday. I walk to the end of the...
