Flight 42 Cocktail Lounge and other things

There used to be a bar in an old Constellation airplane on the NE side of the intersection of 43rd and Main. It was where the H&R Block building is now. It was called the Flight 42 Cocktail Lounge and it opened in 1965, and reportedly was open for about 2 years

"Super Connie" was then driven from the downtown airport to the NE corner of 43rd and Main (4200 block) in 1965 and used as a cocktail lounge.

The owner went bankrupt in December 66 and the airplane was destroyed in 1967.

This is where it sat today.

I also found this:

The Jet Lounge was inside the State Hotel, in downtown Kansas City, MO, in 1966.
The Jet Lounge, every few minutes,  piped in sound of a jet take-off.

In my research I also found a TWA Hotel at JFK.  It looks really neat.

I heard about this recently and wanted to share.  Until tomorrow.
