Today I started exploring Swope Park. Colonel Swope donated 1,334 acres to Kansas City for a park and the city has bought more land so now it's 1,805 acres. The zoo is in Swope Park too.
We start across the street from Swope Park at the Parks and Recreation.
Do you see all the signs?
I didn't. But brave me went in the building anyway.
I found a piece of art.
It's called Man on Payphone.
I was at the right spot.
I got the book.
The receptionist was a delight. We had to wait while the book was brought down. She told me all about Swope Park and how to get around.
They have great public art.
I was afraid of coming home with one of these.
This house is on the National Register of Historic Places.
1910 Van Noy Mansion
In 2023, it sold for $775.000.
5 bedrooms and 3 baths, 2.5 acres
That's our start. I will be posting more tomorrow and Thursday. I'm going to get my covid, flu and 2nd hep b shot tomorrow. The exercise class searching will have to begin next week.
