It is the most photographed fountain in Kansas City. Isn't it beautiful?
As I took a closer look it is quite violent. There are 4 horses fighting and 4 dolphins with children.
An Indian attacking an alligator.

Human Sea Creatures attacking horse and rider.

Another Human Sea Creature attacking horse.
There is an extra Dolphin too.
This one is pulling the girl's hair.
It is a wonderful fountain in an enjoyable park. There are people sitting just watching it.
Originally the JC Nichols family members bought it in 1952 for a memorial to him.
Since J.C. Nichols has been found to be a racist and anti-Semitic, the park board has decided to rename the fountain. I could not find a new name in my research just the notes from the decision in 2020 to rename it. The short street in front of the fountain was also renamed from J.C. Nichols Parkway to Mill Creek Parkway. Even the Nichols family supported these actions.
You might notice the water has a tint of blue to it. The fountains change water color sometimes. Last week the water was green for childhood cancer. I would assume the blue has something to do with the Royals but I could be totally wrong. Groups can also pay to have the water color changed for causes.
Until tomorrow.
