Nelson-Atkins Egypt, Greece and some religious

This morning it was cloudy and comfortable.  I was really questioning my inside plans for the week.  Then  the sun came out, and now it's just hot and humid.

Today we will visit the air conditioned Nelson-Atkins.  I started in the Egypt section.  Every time I have tried to go there before a school field trip was there.

Sarcophagus

This is what the sarcophagus is put in.

Mummy of Ka-i-nefer
He was a man 45 to 55 and roughly 5'5".

One of my favorites
About the size of a half dollar

Horus as a Hawk

Heracles
I seem to love melty faces

Greek Mirror.
The round part would be highly polished.

Antinous

Busts

Roman Sarcophagus
It's beautiful

Silver cross

I have been looking for this for awhile.
I have asked multiple guides.
Saint John the Baptist's finger is in the glass cylinder.

Fighting a dragon

This was on the way out.

My lower back can take about 2 hours of looking at a museum.  Please understand for every picture I post I have taken 10 more.  I just post things I like or find interesting.

Quick stop at Lowes and Price Chopper then home.  It's even hotter than before.

Until tomorrow.
