It's Flag Day. Where else would we go but to the Flag Retirement Ceremony.
I have never seen what is officially done to a flag beyond repair. I was curious. It was also held in Washington Square Park across the street from Union Station. I didn't even realize there was a park there.

The Rifle Team behind them is the Honor Guard
I sat through most of the program but I went to look at the Korean War Veterans Memorial
when the speeches started.
It's a unique shaped tunnel.
Wall of Missouri Deaths
The retirement finally started. The flag is carried to the front.
Then put in the fire.
After the ceremony is complete Taps is played and there is a 21 gun salute.
It was actually quite moving. There were not many people there who were not connected to the Missouri Korean War Veterans Memorial. It was also quite hot today and all of the seats were in the sun. (I moved a chair to the shade.) There is another event being held in the park this weekend and they were set/setting up.
Today we did something new, saw an attraction, and went to a new park. Nice day.
Until tomorrow.
