I planned a low key day.
I took the pile of things to storage. That pile was was sitting here for about 2 weeks. What can I say I'm lazy.
I loaded the donations and other things into the car. Off I went.
Then Stop! I saw a heart at KU Med.
This is the 4th one I have found by accident.
This is really our first stop. It's the KCK Recycling Center. This is why I came:
I took all of my plastic shopping bags to help support the KCK Challenge. While in KCK I looked up where the Giant Iron was located. It's on my list.
It's a tribute to the Grandview Hotel, a "Flatiron Building" stood for 100 years.
The hotel was demolished in 1987.
Across the street is Fire Station No. 9. It's on the National Register of Historic Places.
Beautiful building.
The last thing was to drop off the donations. Done. I have really been working on the "stuff" this week. I hope to finish painting the bedroom soon. It just needs touch-ups.
Overall its been a great day. Most of the piles are gone. There is a furniture pile still. I need help getting it out to the alley. People trashcan shop for furniture around it. Nothing is left for long.
