This is the Man in Despair
From pictures it looks small but is really quite big.
Still the beautiful houses
I made a wish
Look at this house.
To finish up Hyde Park. This second section doesn't even have a marker with the name. On this area the only thing I saw was the sculpture and wide open space. It became a park in 1902 and is 7.46 acres.
I love markers
Tomorrow is fountain day.
They get turned on.
This has a walkway between the fountain and sculpture.
This sculpture is from New York City's Penn Station.
When they decided to demolish Penn Station, John Starr wrote to Pennsylvania Railroad President.
He received this. There was a clock in the the center and the two women represent night and day.
The clock was removed and the Starrs had an Eagle Award medal installed.
Day with an eagle.
Night is bare breasted.
In 1968, this caused some issues with the boy scouts.
This is my story for the day.
I was walking along the sidewalk in Hyde Park toward the fountain I had driven by on the way to the park. I saw something laying on the ground ahead of me by a trashcan. I thought nothing of the trashcan. The park is really clean and there are dog poo bags everywhere. I thought I saw something moving on the ground. I changed course and started walking a different way. As I got closer I can see it was a person. Really I thought nothing of it still except why would you sleep right by a trashcan? I was at the fountain and what do I see? The sleeper and his trashcan. I watched him for awhile and that trashcan was pulled along with him all the way.
I do apologize for not realizing Hyde Park went onto a second part. They aren't even connected. There is a school and the Eagle Scout Fountain in between. I had plans for tomorrow but that has changed. I shuffled and made new plans.
Until tomorrow.
