First I want to correct something I said Friday. The place with the big tv in the Power and Light district is called KC Live!. I believe I called it PNC. The PNC Plaza is across the street.
If you remember I said it would be packed during the Superbowl. Here is a picture I found of yesterday.
Today I stopped by the Workhouse. It was built in 1897 as a workhouse and jail.
It's made of limestone that the prisoners quarried.
It looks like a castle.
This building across the street says Water Department
Next door you have the Street Department
Fire Station No. 11
February is Black History Month and there is a history hunt going on. I heard about it through the Kemper Museum. I couldn't start until I got the new phone. The other phone was too old for the app. My first stop (1 of 14) was the Buck O'Neil Education and Research Center.
From their website: The BOERC will become a public use facility that incorporates the latest in interactive technology and state-of-the-art research equipment. The Center will allow visitors, students, researchers, and baseball fans to study every aspect of the Negro Leagues and social history.

The side of the building says "in 1914 this building was the Paseo YMCA for colored people"
Another Mural
Just a beautiful building. I'm glad they are saving it.
It's so beautiful. Most of the stained glass windows are still there.
1917 Jamison Temple
That's it for today. It was 40 degrees this morning and I was getting cold. I love the old buildings and all of the history they tell.
Until our next adventure.
