I became a member of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. I didn't have to do everything in one day so I started on the plaza level and only did a 1/4 of it. This section was the European 1750-1950. I'll show you some of what I liked.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Study for Young Girls Playing Volant, 1887
Vincent van Gogh
Study of a Peasant's Head, 1885
Vincent Van Gogh
Olive Trees 1889
Camille Pissarro
Poplars, Sunset at Eragny 1894
Henri Fantin-Latour
Chrysanthemums 1889
Claude Monet
Boulevard des Capucines 1873-1874
Eugene Boudin
Trouville, Beach Scene 1874
Edouard Manet
The Croquet Party 1871
I love these little miniatures
Unknown
Portrait of a Boy 1799
Thomas Couture
The Illness of Pierrot 1859-1860
Thomas Lawrence
Mrs. William Lock of Norbury 1829
Adolphe Appian
A Pond 1867
Pablo Ruiz Picasso
Bust of a Faun 1946
Marcel Duchamp
Marcel Duchamp Cast Alive 1967
Georges Rouault
Duo 1930-1935
These were my favorites. I seem to like the older stuff compared to the newer. The museum is massive. It will take multiple visits to see everything. They also have featured exhibitions that change often. There is an outdoor sculpture park too. This is close to me with garage parking so its a perfect winter adventure.
See ya tomorrow for another adventure.
