Continuing on the Latino Legacy Trail.
Argentine Locomotive Maintenance Inspection Terminal
This is not a stop.
My Grandfather loved trains.
He could not pass by a train without stopping or adding it to his list to go back and check out later.
That might be where my list making habit came from.

Back to the stop which was across the street.
The Eagle Nest VFW
When the Latino men returned from serving in WW2 they were not allowed to join the white VFWs.
The railroad sold them this building for $1. They still meet here.
There is suppose to be a baseball field here also for the men to play at.
I did not find it.
This building has actually served the Latino community in many ways even as a school for Latino children.
This park was down the street from the church.
Names were listed on the sides.
This was also in the park.
I'm not sure if they are buried here.
Last stop for the day.
The old Central High School - now a middle school.
This school was segregated until 1926.
The Latino children were often educated in unheated basements or an annex.
Despite threats 4 Latino students began attending school here in 1926.
2 stops left!
Until tomorrow.
