Saturday I woke up to beautiful temps and opened the sliding glass door. Rain would be coming as I discovered at the parade but for now its beautiful outside. I heard sirens but I hear them all the time. Soon however a burnt rubber smell was inside my space. Outside with my phone I went.
Right down the street a house was on fire.
Firemen were on the roof and walking in and out.
They were putting a hole in the roof.
See my action shot with the ax.
One of my neighbors told me flames were coming out from the roof.
There were 3 fire trucks and a fourth one on the next block.
Most of the windows had blown out.
There were quite a few people out watching.
The news said the fire cause was under investigation. Two people had been taken to the hospital. I know an elderly man lived there. I waved at him when I walked Charlie. By the time I got back from the parade all of the windows had been boarded up. The house is just sitting there now. It's so sad for many reasons but it's one of the 10 original houses left on the block. Of course the news has not given any updates.
It was quite the excitement on the block.
Until tomorrow.
