Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Does anyone besides me remember Dream Whip?

They still sell it only it cost more.

I made some for this dessert.

This chocolate eclair dessert is simple.

Make vanilla pudding, add whipped cream.

The recipe called for Cool Whip but I didn't want that taste so I went with the Dream Whip.

Then you layer

Graham Crackers - pudding mix - graham crackers - pudding mix

The best part is the frosting.  

Make your own or buy canned and heat.

You then let your dish chill for at least 2 hours.  I tried some at 2 hours.  The graham crackers had not soften at all.  This morning I think it tasted much better.  I don't know if I got a chocolate eclair taste but it is good.

Would I make this again?  I'm not sure I would.  You could make the pudding mixture with any flavor and just eat that.  

This is really simple and goes together quickly.  I made the pudding mix and put 2 dishes together and cleaned the kitchen in less than an hour.  

I think this dessert was a bit pricy for me. I spent about $15 total with the highest costs being Graham Crackers $5.99, Dream Whip $3.50 and milk $3.19.  I could have purchase heavy cream and made my own whipped cream cheaper. 

Please note I am not a milk drinker so I purchase only for cooking or baking.  This recipe needed 4 cups of milk.

That's my review.  We tried a new unknown recipe and it tastes good.
