Box Gallery and other stuff

The goal was today was to find the Box Gallery.  It has been on my list for the past year but I have never made it there.

It is downtown so on the way I almost saw the President sign on top of the hotel.

New England National Bank Building
Built in 1907

Eagle and Name

The original New England Bank Building was a one-story structure constructed of steel and masonry walls with a main entrance featuring thirteen-foot bronze doors made from a single casting.

In 1928 the building was sold and a plan for the twelve additional stories would added later in 1930. The building was rehabilitated in 2004.

Okay let's keep walking.  I was distracted.

It's in this building.
Another beauty.

Built in 1985, 20 stories.

I didn't  know where to go so I went to the bank.
I believe they are the sponsor of the Box Gallery.

Stores, Salon, and a Dentist but also an art gallery.

Found it.  Easy we can come here all the time.

The current exhibit is called Portrait of a City.

TWA Building

Charlie Parker

My favorite statue, Kemper Museum

Phone Booth Westport.

The exhibit was a collection of places around Kansas City - both states but mainly KCMO.  There is no one judging you when you walk in.  You can just enter and enjoy.

( There are cameras watching your every move.)

On the other end of the hallway:

We will explore this building more now that I know where the gallery is.

Until tomorrow.
