One more adventure with friends

We went to the Harry S. Truman Library today.

Great Displays

The green safety plug for the bomb dropped on Nagasaki.
Once the plane left on it's mission the green plug was removed and a red activating plug was put in.

Sadako Sasaki was a survivor of the atomic bomb.
At age 11, she had leukemia from the radiation exposure.
She folded 1,000 origami paper cranes per Japanese legend to be granted a wish.
She wished for peace.
She died when she was 12.
Inside the glass case is one of the original cranes she folded.

Represents the number of aircraft that flew supplies each day during the Berlin Airlift.

Campaign Buttons

A grieving father returned his son's purple heart to Truman.
President Truman kept it in his desk.
