On one of the first cool days of fall, we visited the Museum of Geosciences at UMKC. I didn't know this place existed until this summer. I really like the UMKC campus.
The displays started in the hall.
This is a fin of the animal pictured below.
Of this animal.
Fossils
Very cool fish fossil
Large geode
Cephalopod
Fossil Turtle from South Dakota
This is a Megacerops coloradensis
This is it's lower jaw.
Me having fun.
Petrified Wood
Mammoth Tooth
Quartz from Arkansas
I want to call this a saber tooth tiger.
They had lots of rocks with fluid in them.
If you like rocks this place is amazing. I could do a whole week of pictures about this place. You can arrange for a guided tour but I just walked around on my own.
This was a great adventure.
