I was all set to find a church cemetery near me today. But that's not what happened.
I did find a pretty church.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church 1906
Beautiful doorway
I think I found where ashes are buried.
With several headstones.
So we will explore our surroundings
Memorial for Murray Davis, KC Lawyer, who was killed in the
Battle of the Argonne, Sept 29, 1918.
Across from park
North of the park, promotions for what is happening to Main Street.
Thomas G. Patterson Plaza
This marks where a time capsule is buried.
In the early 1920s several candy companies were located along Main Street. Today, Kansas City is home to the world's largest producer of boxed chocolates, Russell Stover Candies.
Reminds me of the need to go back to the Russell Stover Store.
Art Deco is everywhere on this block.
This tower and clock are very important to many people.
It was once Katz Drug Store.
Now it's apartments.
I'm walking back to my car and I can't believe what I missed.
This big church across the street from the first church.
Just gorgeous
1913
I didn't find a spooky hidden cemetery. I did walk from 40th to 39th on Main Street. I found beautiful buildings, a park, and 2 churches over 100 years old.
Let's see what I can come up with tomorrow.
