This was not a fun adventure. Our goal for today was to get Missouri Tags.
The first stop was inspections. This actually only took about 15 minutes.
Done.

Next we needed a statement of non-assessment. This means we didn't pay Missouri personal property taxes for the year 2023. The website says you have to go to the Historic Truman Courthouse to get this. The guys who did the inspection suggested trying the downtown Jackson County Courthouse instead of driving to Independence.

I messed up and went to City Hall instead of Jackson County Courthouse. They called the courthouse and I was told to go to Independence
Historic Truman Courthouse
I have been wanting to go to Independence for the Truman Library. It's much closer than I thought. Inside we went. I signed up for the walk in instead of making an appointment. I started talking to the other people when I sat down and they told me to go back and signup for an appointment. While I was doing this they called my name. Perfect.
The lady did her thing and I had my paperwork in hand. Done.
Back to Kansas City and the tag office.
I sat here for about an hour and a half.
End result: Missouri Tags
This felt like the worse scavenger hunt ever. Thank goodness I looked at the requirements for tags last night. I never would have known about the inspections. What a mess.
Independence looks like its full of history. While trying to find the courthouse I drove pass the Truman house. I wanted to stop so bad. We will be going back.
Until tomorrow.
