Fountain Hunting

I have so many maps to mark different sites.  Today we are hunting fountains on the fountain map.  This map also has some public art on it.

Wornall Fountain
67th and Wornall
Not working

At a nearby house was a heart.
After they have been displayed they are auctioned

Neighborhood fountain - Romanelli Island
69th and Wornall
Look at this fountain and just imagine what the houses are like

I can't say I pay a lot of attention to the statues of fountains,
but this has 3 kids attacking a bird.

Across the street and under the viaduct

Viaduct looks safe right?  Don't mind that crack.

Armour Center Fountain

Harold D. Rice Memorial Fountain
He was the founder of the City of Fountains Foundation
(I'm using their map today)

Marlborough Plaza Fountain

Pretty church across the street

1948 - Very new for a church in Kansas City

This is at one of the entrances to Swope Park (Zoo)
Delbert J. Haff Circle Fountain

Delbert Haff
Park Commissioner 1908 - 1912

It's just so pretty

Southeast High School across the street

The second Statue of Liberty I have found

This one is also from the Boy Scouts - 1950

That's it for today.  I didn't make it to everything on my list but I added 2 fountains.   On top of having many maps I also have lots of lists with just a couple of things circled which I didn't make it to.

It has warmed up in Kansas City.  It's still low 60s at night but quite hot and very often humid during the day.  I plan to stay inside (except for Charlie walks) till the sun goes down.  I have to water the veggies and houseplants tonight.

Until tomorrow.
