I have a zoo membership which I have not used since February. So off I went. I got so lost on the way. I am pretty sure Google Maps said "We don't even know where you are!". GM and I finally got me back on the correct path. In doing so I drove across the scary bridge which is more scary driving than walking.
Anyway I arrived at the zoo. There are many, many cars there. This is the last week of school in Kansas City and there are about a million children there with 1 adult. I walked my two miles and left.
Part of the million people
One of 3 camels. I was trying to find all 3 but a 5 or 6 year old started having a conversion with me about this horse. I told him it was a camel. This conversion lasted for a while.
Laughing Kookaburra.
Not laughing.
Shells from Australia
Sheep
All the children thought they were stinky
You can through the kangaroos.
They wisely stayed out of the way.
This was the wrong day to come to the zoo! I'm headed for the exit.
On the way out I saw the polar bear
So I went up the hill (everything in Kansas City is up a hill) to the Star Light Theatre.
I could see The Shirley Bush Helzberg Garden Of The Stars.
Two Hippos watch the street. One on each side.
Swope park is really nice.
Today did not turn out how I had planned. I got my 2 miles in and had a wonderful conversation about a horse/camel.
He is cute.
I had planned to spend most of the week at Swope Park and around it. I think I will be changing that.
I did start on cleaning the storage. I took out all of the empty boxes for recycling. They pick up today.
That's it today. It's hot and humid. I'm tired.
Until tomorrow.
