Today was great. It's cool but warm enough to be enjoyable. My plans were not cancelled and everything went as planned.
My first stop was Hospital Hill on the grounds of Children's Mercy Hospital.
114 people who lost their lives by the tragic events of July 17, 1981
Two overhead walkways in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, collapsed
The hospital is your backdrop.
Across the street. You can't see it but very decorated building.
Across the street are the railways that run to Union Station
There is also a Children's Mercy Community Garden
Our next stop will be Longfellow Park. It's just down the street. You won't believe this but I got lost.
I found the Hallmark Corp entrance with fountains.
Hallmark is hidden behind this church.
We went there before.
Then I found it - Longfellow Park
This is across the street. I drove right by it.
There is a crown garden.
A very nice walking path.
The Gulf War Memorial
I walked the entire block. It's right across from Children's Mercy on the South. There are 3 huge Ronald McDonald houses here. Longfellow park surrounds one of them.
They also have their own little park.
The streets are painted with hearts in front of them.
This is happy me knowing where I am.
Me with a sea monster
All 3 of these parks are 5 blocks apart. You could really part at one end and not get lost. I did not realize that. All three parks seem to be directly connected to Children's Mercy. They are beautiful.
Notice there are not any pictures of completed painted walls. Hmm.
Until tomorrow.
