Mill Creek Park

Today I explored Mill Creek Park.  This park was created in 1908 and is 11 acres.  The park is east of the plaza.  I started in the middle of the trail.

I walked by the sign and forgot to take a picture.

It's just beautiful!

Matty Hiertas Bench
An optimist who loved her four sons, daughters-in-law, family walks, laughter and lived for today.

I found this marker.

Here is the spruce.

This was near the spruce.

I was walking on the fitness trail with all of the other people.

When I got to the north end I crossed the street to get the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain.
I went there in January and the fountains weren't turned on.

It was hard to capture.  There are multiple levels and the water flows from one to the next.

I don't remember if I got this in January.

The Carriage House Est. 1865

I just love murals

This bar seems to go into the Carriage House.
Sometimes I get brave and explore.

The tree adapted.

Isn't he cute!
We are back in Mill Creek Park

Many of the benches have markers

You can't really read this.  I couldn't really read it either.
There is a pond here.  This helps you identify all of the plants.
It has not be worked on for some time.

Another bench

Stairs from the pond leading back to the fitness trail.

An overlook of the pond

The pond is over grown

Grand Knot

This was on Google maps.  It's a drinking fountain dedicated to the children.

Another bench

And another bench

Close-up of the Horse Fountain

Horse Fountain.
It has not been turned on yet.

This park is wonderful.

I love this park.  The fitness trail is very used and you feel very safe.  When you are on the south end you are at the entrance of the plaza with lots of traffic both car and pedestrian.  There are also fitness machines along the trail.  Just a note - all of the benches are on google maps.

When I got home I planted my 2 tomato plants.
They are just babies.

I walked 3 miles today.  That is not normal for me to willingly walk.  I might be changing a little.  For the better I hope.  The weather is forecasted for storms for the next couple of days.  We will have to wait and see what happens.

Until tomorrow.

Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday. I walk to the end of the...
