Today I was out and about exploring. I was searching for this house.
Charles S. Keith House also known as the J.C. Nichols House
This was my view from the street. It's a beautiful house.
I copied this one from the internet.
I don't see how they got such a close photo.
The Charles S. Keith House, also known as the J. C. Nichols House, is a historic residence located at 1214 West 55th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The 2+1⁄2-story Georgian Revival house sits on a three-acre tract in the Kansas City's Country Club District near Ward Parkway.
J.C. Nichols is the founder of the Country Club Plaza.
Every house on this block and the surrounding blocks could have been a post. All so beautiful.
Close by is the Country Club Christian Church. I love old buildings and this one is breath-taking. Inside is a life sized sculpture of the last supper. Life-size Last Supper, carved from wood by Domenic Zappia, who died soon after it was put on display at the 1964 New York World's Fair. Now in a glass-enclosed booth inside a church. The church has owned it since 1971.
Across the street Ward Parkway has been awarded a Great Street.
That award is in front of the fountain.
This is Townsend Hall. It's a historic landmark. I have searched and searched and can't find why.
It's across the street from the church.
Notes for today: I didn't get lost or argue with Google. She and I were on our best behavior. I appreciate artwork even if it's not my belief. It was very cold today. Probably close to 30 degrees and that might be pushing it. The fountain was frozen at both ends but the middle it was not. I was really surprised it was running. Most of the fountains are closed down.
It was good to be out of my chair that I have been sitting in for a couple of days. Let the adventures continue.
