Today we visited the John Wornall House Museum. He was a very important part of Kansas City and West Port.
John Wornall's father bought 500 acres in 1843 for $2,500. John inherited the property.
He married 3 times.
This was their parlor
I would call this the living room.
Livingroom
Dining Room
Kitchen
That was the first floor. During the civil war the house was taken over by both sides. It was used for a hospital. After the war was over John Wornall returned.
There were 2 bedrooms upstairs you were able to see. The children's room.
The adult bedroom.
The museum lady said this was considered a very big house back in the 1800s. John Wornall's wife, Roma, sold the remaining land to Mr. Nichols (Plaza Founder) after his death. Then bought the house back. The family lived in the house until the 1960s.
No funnies today. I was the only person there. I think I scared the lady. By the time I left there were 2 employees. She must have called for back-up.
One last picture. This is a crappie picture. There was a lamp that gave a reflection. This is a wreath of hair. It's so beautiful. I wish the picture was better so all the details could be seen.
Until our next adventure.
