Wine Tasting

 Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday.

I walk to the end of the block.

I'm here.

This is my little glass of wine.

There were quite a few people there.

They had tasting for canned drinks, wine and spirits tonight.

I did buy a bottle of the moscato.

I tried one of the canned drinks.  I skipped the spirits.  I don't drink much so I didn't try many.  It was fun.  I can see going every so often but the HOA president told me many of people go every week.  She also told me as the holidays get closer they will have more vendors.

Shopping Adventure

 I believe I have said before one of the things I miss in my new life is having shopping near by.  Wednesday after the final slow motion class I found the Carter's store.  It took me 30 minutes to get there because I followed google maps instead of my common sense.

It's almost the 15lb's birthday.  I wanted to find some 18M footed sleepers for him.  The kids told me that were having problems finding them so I started looking also.  They could not be found.  Below 12M and 2T and above were available but no 12M or 18M.  The Carter's store had them.

I know sleepers are probably not the thing you would wish for your birthday present but it might be what you need.  I got a few more things too.

Do you remember I told you I found Dillards and Macys on the way home from the Spinach Festival?  That also is where Carter's is located.

I had so much fun shopping.  I did stay on task.  Dillards and Macys will have to be another day.

Tai Chi is over

 I did it!  I finished Tai Chi!

I went to class and finished.

I missed 3 classes.

But finally, it's over!

The teacher was really a nice lady.

I'm done with this class.  The new list of classes for January will be out by Thanksgiving.   I really enjoyed taking a class and plan to take more.

Nelson Atkins Outdoor stairs

 Our fifth outdoor stairs are located at the Nelson - Atkins.  I haven't been outside at the Nelson recently because it is oppressively hot but yesterday it was bare able.  I started noticing all of the stairs.  Really there are stairs everywhere outside.

They have earned a place on our Outdoor Staircase List.  I have really been enjoying my Mondays at the Nelson.  I don't stay long - maybe an hour or less.  Even though slow motion class will be over tomorrow I still intend to come.  Unless of course an exciting adventure is waiting.

Monday at the Nelson - Art Course Hunt

 I went to the Nelson with a hunt today.  It was actually one of their hunts - to find the art which inspired the mini golf course.

This was a quick hunt today.  They even listed the location.  I just had to walk to the different locations.  I have a much harder hunt for next week.

Last week of slow motion class!!  Just one more class on Wednesday.    The Spark Program has no classes during November and December.  They start up again in January.  The teacher is offering to keep meeting with us, the beginners, and the class after ours, the advanced, until classes begin again.  The teacher is a very nice woman.  You might have guessed but I will not be attending.

I also signed the form today at the doctor's office for the gym referral.  The doctor had to wait until I signed the release before she could send the referral.   I'm hoping I can get that going soon.

Library Outdoor Stairs

 Yesterday before the protest I stopped at the Plaza Library.  I had 2 reasons: puzzles and stairs.  

I took a puzzle to swap.

I came home with a chocolate puzzle.

The other reason was the staircase.

At the bottom there is a walkway to more stairs which lead to the sidewalk.

This is our 4th outdoor staircase.

It leads to a library auditorium room.

Everything is uphill.

No Kings #2

 Today I went to the No Kings Protest today.  First I stopped by the library which is the adventure for  tomorrow.  I have to tell you people were parking and walking from South Plaza to protest.  I drove.

After parked I walked to the park with thousands of other people.

Side note - The fountain is dyed blue for the Garmin Kansas City Marathon which was this morning. 

I tried to get as high as possible to show the people.

The news was there from ABC.

Thousands and thousands of people showed up today.  They were down Main St., nearing blocking 47th, filled the park, and had over flowed down a couple blocks of the plaza.  When I was leaving some police walked past me toward the park.  Hopefully to help the poor cars that were kind of stuck in the middle of the people.  So many people were still arriving.  It was truly amazing.

Driving home there were people walking still from my neighborhood.
