Nelson-Atkins Kids Scavenger Hunt

 After slow motion class I stopped by the Nelson-Atkins.  I was looking for a different way to look at the art so I pulled up the kid section on their website and found the scavenger hunt.

This is what I was looking for.

I looked and looked.  I was in the Impressionist Gallery and thought I was in the right place.  I asked one of the guides.  We looked and couldn't find it.  She got another guide.  The three of us looked and looked and couldn't find it.  They questioned where I got this and I told them - their website.  Finally the older guide told me to just say I found it.  Then the picture came up.

The Good Earth by Pearl Buck

This book was for the book club I signed up for but they haven't contacted me.  I finished the book anyway.

That's it.  I need to work on crafts to empty a cube.  I have actually emptied a cube to complete the goal but I just crammed one cube into the others.  Now they are all completely full.  I can't find anything.

It's going to be a warm week so hopefully I will get lots done.

Parent Day

 Today I was a parent again.  Chris was in a tennis tournament and I went to watch.

There was a court in between the seats and the court he was playing on.

They won the first game.

I went home after an hour.

They won the first and second game.  They play one more game tomorrow.  

The seats were in the shade.  I had fun even though I don't know much about tennis.

Streetcar Exhibit at Union Station

 After walking down all the stairs I walked across the street to Union Station.  I had read that there was a new exhibit about the streetcar.

I walked all over looking for the exhibit.

The exhibit was in a hallway.

Everyone was just walking by - I was the only one looking at it.

The exhibit was about the old streetcar system.  It ran all over KCMO and into Kansas too.  They even say now that most of the old track is removed they are installing new track. The streetcar had it's up and downs but after World War II around 1950, people started buying cars.  By 1957, the streetcar ran its last run.

 It was a very small exhibit with lots of information.  Most of the displays faced the windows and I could not get a good picture.  

Now I had to walk back to the car but I whined about that yesterday.

You can climb up or down stairs about everywhere here.  The problem for me is most of the stairs do not have a hand rail which I prefer.  I am quite clumsy.

I did this on Monday after slow motion class.  It was hot.  At the end I was just hoping to make it to my car.  My car was parked uphill from the sidewalk of course.

Another lazy day

 Yesterday was Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.  The start of High Holy Days.  I meant to post that but I never sat down and did it.

Today I was just down right lazy.  I went to slow motion class.  I really don't like this class.  We started out on the first day with 12 people and now we are down to 8.  

I came home and started working on started but not finished crafts.  And I finished one.

I been thinking about this for a while.

I have several other things set out but I haven't touched them.  I woke up at 5 am and could not go back to sleep.  I'm just tired and lazy today.

Plaza Art Fair

 I got out yesterday while it was cooler and sometimes cloudy and went to the Plaza Art Fair.  

There were many nice art pieces.

Music was still going on.

I walked around for about an hour.  I got hot and had to come home.  I will never buy anything here but it's fun walk around.

 Totally did not get much done this week.

I didn't finish my book or a cross stitch this week.  I'll try to do better next week.

Art in the Park

 I went to Walmart this morning to look for footed sleepers.  No one is able to find them in 12 or 18 months.  But I bought a 2 piece pajama and got socks.  I think that equals the same thing.  

After spending way too much time at Walmart I headed out to my adventure.  I went to the Art in the Park.  It's put on by the West Plaza Association and always on the same weekend as the Plaza Art Fair.  I don't understand why they do the same weekend.  

Honestly it's hot and I didn't even walk over to the tents.  I'm home in air conditioning and I have a puzzle to put together.  Hopefully today or tomorrow I will make it down to the Plaza.

My adventure with the brown tree frog

 Last night I was getting ready for bed.  I saw something on the floor.  Of course I immediately blamed Charlie.

Then I put my glasses on.

It was the frog.

I start texting with the kids.

I don't know what to do.

I throw a towel over it.

Then threw a towel over the towel.

Scooped it up and took it out.

I looked at the towel and there was no frog.

Very hard to see but he hopped away.

He kept hopping.

I'm planning which hotel Charlie and I will be going to.

Then Chris called and said he was on the way.

He got it and put it outside.

It hopped down into my little patio.

You can see me standing inside at the patio door watching.

Charlie and I watched until he hopped out.

We watched till he hopped away from us.

What a night!  A very big ThankYou is being sent to Chris!!
