It's been a cloudy rainy day.  What should we do?  Hunt hearts of course.

So this takes us to 21 of 101.  It was really nice today.  Just a light mist/sprinkle.  All of these hearts were somewhat near each other.  I did have to use Google Maps for most of them but a few I actually knew where I was and was I was going.

Until tomorrow!

KU Med and another heart

There is a heart on the KU Med campus that I had no idea how to get to.  That was our goal for today.  I parked on State Line Road and started walking (uphill).

Once you get to the top of the hill you get to walk down to walk up on the other side.

I found the heart!

Backside

So let's keep walking and explore.

I found gardens with tomatoes.

Lots of tomatoes

And Bees

I kept walking to Rainbow.  This is new constructions.

Across the street from new apartments is a bowl of parking.
Now back up Rainbow toward 39th.

I made it.

In case you forget where you are - The University of Kansas is everywhere

Bunches of herbs

Across 39th I found another heart.  It's from 2023.

I kept walking and found some interesting landscaping.

Back at 39th and State Line Road

The buildings are really pretty.

This might not seem like a lot but I walked for over an hour.  This place is huge!  I understand where I went wrong while looking for the heart.  KU has it's own streets.  I was very close but didn't go far enough.

I got out early this morning.  I was actually able to sleep last night.  The last 2 weeks have been rough.

Until tomorrow.

The project

Since Saturday I have been assisting Chris with a project.  I will be helping for the rest of the week.  They live in a house that is 120 years old.  It's a beautiful house but they have a list of improvements they want to do.  This is the one they are working on.

Stripping the paint from this window.

This is where I have been helping.  The piece of wood next to the window.
There are 9 windows, 4 sides = 36 pieces of wood.
I think I have done 6.

Baby update.  They aren't babies anymore.
They both have blooms

This is the little cherry tomato plant.

One more update:  I'm going to be a Grandma!!  Due in early November.  I can't wait!!

I'm planning an adventure for tomorrow but I will be helping on the window.  I won't get all 36 pieces done but I'm trying to help.  I ordered a new tool from Amazon and I'm waiting for that to be delivered.  I'm hoping it will help.

Until tomorrow.

Memorial Day Weekend

This has been a working weekend.  Saturday I started off by helping Chris with some chores, then he helped me, then I helped him start a project.  Sunday I helped a little with his  project.

Your fountain for the weekend
I found it in front of an apartment building.

The puzzle of the week
All pieces were there

Cross stitch for the week.

It's been a great week and weekend.  I still have not painted but I will next week.  The excess furniture should be picked up on Wednesday.  That has been my excuse.  High hopes for getting things done next week.

Tomorrow we will be spending the afternoon with family and working on Chris's project.

See ya Tuesday.  Have a great Memorial Day.

WW1 Museum

For Memorial Day we visited the WW1 Museum.  The normal cost is $18 but for Memorial Day, veterans are free and for everyone else 1/2 price ($9).  I thought this would be the time to go.

Flags in front of the enterance

140 flags represent a veteran lost to suicide in one week
One lost every 72 minutes

From the patio - a great view of the Western Auto Sign

Quite the view

Going into the museum over a glass bridge, poppies below.

I took so many pictures.  This is a great museum and is of the highest quality.  There are volunteers everywhere to answer questions or tell a story.  I did not pay for the 2 special exhibits or going up into Liberty Tower.  Although I can only image what the view must look like, I thought the free view was beautiful.

If you like history this museum should be on your list.

I'm still working on the storage area.  The last 2 pieces of furniture I'm getting rid of will be picked up on Wednesday.  I'm tired of moving furniture.  Hopefully next week I will start painting again.  I really need to stop putting off the painting and just finish it.

Until tomorrow.

Wine Tasting

Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday. I walk to the end of the...
