Another personal hair adventure today

Okay I couldn't take this haircut anymore.  Even though I'm smiling I hated the haircut.

So I tried a different place in Westport called Hair.

This is me now.  It's shoulder length, she fixed the stringy and the banges.  She was great.  I'm much happier now.

Prosperos Book Store

Yesterday is was near 80 degrees.  When I left with morning at 11 a.m. it was 23 degrees.  What a change.  This was an inside day.  I went to Prosperos Book Store on 39th street near State Line Road.  You might notice you can see KU Med in the back ground.  If it had been nicer I would have walked but it was down right cold so I drove.

It's 3 stories of books

This was just neat.

This curved bookcase leads you to the basement.

Books on the main floor.

On the second floor I found this wood carving.
Books and records are on the 2nd floor.

Plexi-glass piece in the floor.
You can see in the basement.

Read on a TV

I bought 2 books to add to the stack of books I have to read.  I walked across the street to get Chipotle for lunch.

In Chipotle across the street.

Also in chipotle

Bird Houses all around a tree.

I am easily distracted.  I found murals.

I just love murals.  I found the ones below at the plaza yesterday.  This is decorating the sides of a parking garage.

It had warmed up to a balmy 27 degrees by the time I had finished.  I called it a day and headed home.  It is to warm up over the next few days.  Oh - the door is working well.  It keeps out the cold out.  What a improvement.

Until tomorrow.

Long Awaited Adventure

The best adventure took place today - The new door is installed!!

This is the old rotten door.

Charlie did not enjoy the noise.

The old door was removed.

I thought he was talking with the door gods.

Charlie was still not happy.

And the new door was in.

Here it is with all of the trim.

And Charlie is happy again.

This project started in late November.  I have been waiting so long.  During the very cold period I had towels along the bottom and hung a quilt over the door.  This door will be much better.  I'm so happy.

I have most of the week planned out so adventures will happen.

Crafty Sunday Update

For the second week I only completed one thing.  It is cute though.  There is a lot of beading on this one.  Let's just hope I will get more done this week.  I have the week planned out.  I can't wait it will be a good week!

Cake-A-Boo Bakery

Today I had a quick adventure at a new bakery.    Cake-A-Boo.  They are a custom order bakery, only open on Saturday and Sunday but their website says they might cupcakes for walk-ins.  I took my chances and get what they did!

I got 2 cupcakes.  They are amazing.  I also saw her bring out a couple of ordered cakes that looked so beautiful.  She is quite a cake decorator/artist.

I also dropped off two more bags of stuff at the thrift store.  I only bought 2 items - a bag of buttons and a puzzle.  You can never have enough of either.  What means I got rid of more than I brought home.

Chris and I went to the UMKC Conservatory Orchestra last night.  It was a lot of fun.  I should have taken pictures.  I told him about my new plans for my space.  He agreed with some and threw out other ideas.  He had some good ideas.  I'm still planning on one wall at a time and have picked out the wall.  Baby steps.

Enjoy the weekend!

Wine Tasting

Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday. I walk to the end of the...
