Sunday Crafty Update

I have been home a lot this week.

Puzzle

A Christmas Bottle, Snowman and Cross Stitch Daisy

Last night I did another puzzle

Update on my door - Still not ordered.  They have came here and measured twice, and the door I want was sent to the head installer and he put the final approval on it.  Yesterday I went back to Home Depot to pay and order.  They had the door down as 36" and my lady had left a message that they would be using 34".  My lady is of course on vacation.  They had to call and ask her before they would let me order.  The expected date at this point is April.  This door was suppose to be so simple to do.

Now I have to go back again to order.

Monday is a holiday so adventures will start on Tuesday for 2024.  For awhile I plan to do museums or drive bys.  It's just been so cold here.

Can't wait to get started.

ScrapsKC

Today I had a very quiet day.  I went to ScrapsKC.  It's an arts and crafts thrift store.  The kids had taken me one other time for a quick stop but I wanted to explore.  It's in a warehouse and full of stuff.  They give a lot to teachers but also sell to the public.

It's just rows and rows of stuff that is sorted and organized.  I was looking for an item and they went right to it.

This is what I came home with.  They even sell puzzles!

I have enjoyed my time off but can't wait to get back to our adventures.

Baba's Pantry

Today we went to Baba's Pantry.  It's a very small place near Brookside.

The food was great.  It might not look like a lot but this is enough food for all day.

This is the beautiful salad that was ordered at the table.

This was place was fantastic.  Very small place, only 4 or 5 tables.     Well worth the wait for a table.

I'm already planning the adventures for next week.  We will start going to museums, murals and statues again.

Paris Banh Mi

It was a cold day yesterday with snow rain.  I sat inside in my sweats.  I only got out once (except for walking the dogs).  We went to dinner at Paris Banh Mi.  It's really close to my house on Westport Road.

It's very white.

We had a lot of fun.

The food was very good.

I'm not sure if they make the bake goods but they look so good.

They even have ice cream.

It was a great bakery with great sandwiches.  And we had fun!

Brooksider Sports Bar and Grill

The day after Christmas brought snow to Kansas City. Just a light pretty snow that didn't effect the roads.  It was nice.  I was self invited to go to a movie.  First we stopped by Brooksider Sports Bar and Grill for a late lunch.

It was a nice wood filled bar.  TVs with games on surrounded the entire bar.

I found the largest bobble head I have ever seen.  It's of Travis Kelce.  About 3 feet tall.

I was going to take a picture of the mural on the side of the building but I was pretty sure Chris would leave me.  So off to Ward Parkway Center we went.  It's a inside outside mall.  I didn't walk the entire building but it was busy and there were a lot of stores and people.

I took a very blurry picture of the front.

This theater had lounger chairs that were very comfy.  Something different from most Wichita theaters was the full bar that was available.

We saw Poor Things.

It was still snowing when we left.

I'm not sure what the rest of the holiday week holds for adventuring but this was a great start.

Sunday Crafty Update

This has been a very slow week for me.  I didn't get much done for crafting.  I woke up with a pinched nerve in my shoulder on Monday.  I've been fighting it all week.  It feels much better now.

I only finished a puzzle and one cross stitch.

My cross stitch.  A bigger piece than usual.

The puzzle is missing a piece so I will be doing more puzzle piece crafts.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Adventures will start again Tuesday.

The Bakery Enchante

Today we went to The Bakery Enchante.  This place was enchanting.

First I said this is where I wanted to sit.  I changed my mind.

This is where we finally sat.

Their selection was amazing.

It was so hard to decide what to have.

This place was beautiful.

Decorations from across the room.

We have gone to five bakeries so far this week.  I must say this is my favorite so far.  I had an eclair.  It was beyond amazing.

Until tomorrow.

Messenger Coffee Company

Today we went to Messenger Coffee Company in Cross Roads.  The building is beautiful.  The store is 3 stories.

They were baking on the first floor.

The kids were waiting on their coffee.

This was our food.  I got the breakfast burrito of egg and potato.

After we ate we went to the roof to see the view.

The is the old newspaper building.  It's empty now.

The T-Mobile building and part of downtown.

A really neat old building.

After lunch we went to the Chinatown Food Market.  The kids needed ingredients that they had to get here.

Now I had to take a picture of this.  It's above the checkout  area.  It's like a 3D picture of horses.

The kids checking out.

It was great getting out today.  It has started raining now.  I love time with my kids.

Until tomorrow.

Blackhole Bakery

Chris and I went to another bakery today on the I want to visit every bakery in Kansas City quest.

Today we went Blackhole Bakery in Waldo.

Every bakery has their own coffee.

And a marvelous selection of sweet and savory.  Of course, I had sweet.

Tomorrow will probably be a museum.  Or at least that's my plan.

Until our next adventure.

McLain's Bakery and Betty Rae's Ice Cream

I told my son I wanted to visit every bakery in Kansas City.  So we started today.  We went to McLain's Bakery in Waldo for Lunch.

I had one of the best turkey sandwiches ever.

So now I'm completely full but still bought to-go items.

After lunch we went to get ice cream.  Mine was to-go.

So here's dinner.  Chocolate Chip Cookie and Cupcake from McLain's and Chocolate Ice Cream from Betty Rae's.  This is my dream dinner.

I hope to make it to a few museums before New Year's but I'm dealing with  holiday hours.  I will have an adventure every day.

Until our next adventure.

Wine Tasting

Really out of my comfort zone but tonight I went a wine tasting.   The HOA president told me about it last Friday. I walk to the end of the...
